|Pack the House for Redistricting Reform!.
HB 1014 will receive a hearing on February 15th at 3:30 p.m. in Room 156 A of the Statehouse.
This bill is our best chance at meaningful reform aimed to end partisan gerrymandering. We need support now more than ever: there is strength in numbers! Please join us at the hearing!
Want to learn more about the bill, how it can be improved, and how you can create positive change? The League of Women Voters of Indiana and Common Cause of Indiana invite you to attend a "citizen lobbyist" training prior to the hearings at 10:30 a.m. There will be training sessions on both days, February 8th and February 15th at the Indiana State Library on Ohio Street.

Lunch with LWV will kick of 2017 on February 17th with a presentation from Paulette Vandegriff.
A member of the League of Women Voters since 1977, Paulette held several positions on the LWVIN State Board from 1988-2003 including President. She served has the Advocacy Coordinator from 2007-2013. She represents the LWVIN on the Indiana Coalition for Human Services Board of Directors where she currently serves as President. Paulette is an MAL and resides in Greenfield, IN where she serves on the Advisory Plan Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals. She is a graduate of Indiana University, School of Public and Environmental Affairs
We will meet, as usual, in the Truman Room located within the Scottish Rite Cathedral. We encourage our members to procure lunch onsite at the always helpful Double Eagle Cafe.

Former LWVIN state presidents, current local LWV (co)presidents, and up to two (2) additional local LWV guests are invited to the annual LWVIN President's Day gathering on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 10:30a.m. to 3:30p.m. in Indianapolis.
COST: $5 per person (former state presidents, current local LWV (co)presidents, & 2 additional local guests)
ADD'l COST: $10 for League members in addition to the 2 extra guests
(i.e., each local League can send up to 4 people, depending on their leadership structure.)

Registration is REQUIRED by Monday, February 13.

Directions and an agenda will be emailed the week of February 13.
Attendees are asked to bring ONE planning or procedural document created by their League to share with others. Ideally, each League member from a local League will bring a unique document. If that isn't possible, that's okay! Examples include: 1.) Candidate Forum Policy, 2.) Event Planning Forms, 3.) Social Media Policy, 4.) Nonpartisan Policy, 5.) Board Orientation Materials, 6.) Board Policy & Procedures, 7.) Bylaws, 8.) Press Templates, 9.) Checklists, etc.
